Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair & Conference Coming to Washington, DC in October 2023

Event to be hosted by Common Grain Alliance, Friends of Peirce Mill, and UDC-CAUSES

Washington, DC (Jan. 24, 2023) – Save the date! Common Grain Alliance (CGA) is excited to announce the first ever Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair and Conference which will be held on October 22nd and 23rd, 2023. Together with co-hosts Peirce Mill and UDC-CAUSES, we will come together to celebrate Mid-Atlantic grains and discuss ways to strengthen the Mid-Atlantic grain market by:

  • Facilitating opportunities for networking and skill-sharing among professionals in the industries across the regional grain economy

  • Educating consumers on the value and use of regional grains.

The Grain Fair on Sunday the 22nd will be a free, family-friendly event at Peirce Mill open to the general public and will celebrate Mid-Atlantic grains with tastings, demonstrations, and how-to workshops. The Grain Conference on Monday the 23rd will be geared towards grain practitioners and enthusiasts from across the Mid-Atlantic grain market, from breeders and farmers, to millers and distributors, to bakers, pasta-makers, brewers, maltsters, distillers, and other grain artisans. We will discuss successes, challenges, and opportunities to make the Mid-Atlantic grain market stronger. Early-bird registration for the Conference will open up in spring 2023.

We are now accepting proposals for speakers, presentations and workshops for both event days through February 24th at 5PM. Refer to the Call for Proposals webpage on the CGA website for more information.
