Join us for an evening of local flavors as we celebrate the opening of Janet's Cafe and Bakery with a Common Grain Alliance meetup, featuring Truckle Cheesemongers and Native Selections! Discover how artisanal crackers made with local grains can elevate your charcuterie experience, perfect for your summer picnic basket.  This event is FREE, but please register using the form below.

What to Expect:

Taste & Learn: Sample a selection of crackers made with local grains baked by Janet’s Cafe and Bakery, including their signature Digestif cracker (perfect solo or paired with sharp, funky cheeses), savory sesame crackers, and more.

Expert Cheese Pairings: Truckle Cheesemongers will present curated local cheese selections that complement each cracker variety.

Wine Tasting: Native Selections will have wine pairings available for tasting, with glasses available for purchase.

Share Local Grains: Bring something you’ve baked with local grains to contribute to the offerings, and connect with fellow food enthusiasts and Common Grain Alliance members. Learn about the Richmond area's grain producers and the movement to rebuild a vibrant regional grain economy in the Mid-Atlantic region.

This  gathering offers an introduction to the flavors and versatility of local grains while celebrating a new CGA member bakery. Whether you're a chef, baker, home cook, or simply curious about local food, you'll leave with new knowledge and appreciation for the foods produced in our region.
