Immersive Workshops at Drexel University
March 17th
In partnership with Drexel University and the renowned Philly Chef Conference, this add-on event offers small-group immersive experiences designed to inspire and equip participants with practical skills.
The Mid-Atlantic Grain Conference is an annual gathering of farmers, millers, maltsters, brewers, bakers, researchers, and food system actors who are working to rebuild a resilient, regenerative grain economy in the Mid-Atlantic region. Hosted by the Common Grain Alliance, the conference highlights how regional grain systems can restore soil health, support farmer viability, strengthen biodiversity, and keep value rooted in local communities.
The 2026 conference will bring together 350+ participants from across the grainshed to share practical knowledge, build market connections, and catalyze collaborations across the supply chain—from seed to soil to mill to bakery to brewery. Our programming centers on diversifying what we grow, expanding food-grade grain markets, and creating farmer-focused supply chains that can withstand climate, economic, and cultural pressures.
The Mid-Atlantic Grain Conference is grounded in a shared belief:
When regional supply chains prioritize soil health, fair markets, and ecological diversity, agriculture becomes a powerful force for climate resilience and community wellbeing.
The audience includes actors from across the regional grain supply chain:
Farmers growing food-grade grains (wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, heritage grains) and integrating regenerative and organic practices
Millers, maltsters, and processors who anchor regional infrastructure and translate grain quality into market value
Brewers and distillers seeking regional grain partnerships and exploring regenerative sourcing models
Artisan and commercial bakers building consumer demand for regionally grown grains
Researchers, agronomists, and extension specialists advancing soil health, grain breeding, biodiversity, and climate adaptation
Food system practitioners and nonprofit leaders working on farmland preservation, supply chain development, and farmer-centered markets
Policy advocates and mission-driven businesses committed to strengthening regional economies through regenerative agriculture
Students and emerging professionals entering the fields of sustainable agriculture, brewing, milling, and food systems work
Collectively, this audience represents a highly engaged community that is shaping the future of diversified grains, climate-resilient farming, and values-driven food businesses. These are practitioners who are not just talking about regenerative models—they are building them, testing them, and scaling them across the Mid-Atlantic.
