Learn how CGA member business Reservoir Distillery uses Virginia grains to make single grain spirits—Reservoir’s goal being to answer the question, What does Virginia taste like? Hear from Director of Distillery Education and CGA board member Shelley Sackier about how the Virginia Heritage Grain Project is studying flavor’s proprietary offerings via geography (hello, soil). The project is working with farmers, distillers, bakers, and chefs to reveal those flavor profiles.
Bring something you've baked with local grains to contribute to the offerings, and connect with fellow food enthusiasts and Common Grain Alliance members.
Whether you're a chef, baker, home cook, or simply curious about local food, you'll leave with new knowledge and appreciation for the foods produced in our region.
